Marketing Strategy - an Essential Element of Company Development

Marketing strategy is a multifaceted concept, but it should always outline an action plan that sets the path to achieve the company's business goals. A well-constructed strategy allows for the efficient utilization of available resources and maximization of return on marketing investments.

Effective brand building and reaching audiences require a coherent action plan. The key to success is creating two strategies that complement each other:

  1. Brand Strategy:

  • Brand positioning: Defining the unique position of the brand in the market, considering its values, characteristics, and the needs of the target audience.

  • Brand image: Creating a desired brand image that is attractive to the target audience and distinguishes it from competitors.

  • Brand DNA: Determining the values and ideas that form the foundation of the brand, visible in all its actions.

  1. Communication Strategy: Determining how the brand communicates with customers.

  • Setting objectives: Establishing what the brand aims to achieve through communication and who it wants to reach.

  • Selection of channels and tools: Choosing appropriate communication channels to effectively reach the target audience.

  • Communication platform: Consistent and engaging content that addresses the needs and expectations of the audience.

  • Language and Visuals: Displaying the style and character of the brand in the chosen archetype.

Why are these two strategies so important?

  • Consistency: Combining brand and communication strategies ensures a consistent brand image in all its activities.

  • Effectiveness: Effective communication builds positive associations with the brand and increases its recognition.

  • Competitiveness: A well-constructed strategy helps differentiate the brand from competitors and build a strong market position.

Example:

Imagine a company producing organic cosmetics. The brand strategy may define it as an environmentally responsible company, caring for the natural environment and offering high-quality products. The communication strategy may involve creating educational content about ecology and skincare, as well as collaborating with influencers who promote a healthy lifestyle.

Combining these two strategies allows the company to create a coherent brand image, build trust among customers, and effectively reach its target audience.

Remember, every process should start with an Analysis, during which:

  • Gather data on sales, trends, and competition.

  • Evaluate past marketing activities.

  • Create a report on the brand's position and market environment.

Remember:

  • The communication stage is closely related to the analytical and strategic stages.

  • Effective brand communication requires solid foundations built in previous stages.

A high-quality communication strategy is a living document that undergoes updates in response to market changes and customer needs.

Marketing strategy extends far beyond a typical action plan. It's not a template but a roadmap to reach a unique place in the minds of your audience.

It's the first, fundamental step that determines what kind of brand you want to be and how to stand out from the competition. It's a compass that leads to achieving your goals: building recognition, increasing sales, and creating loyal customer relationships.
